I have been highly critical of J Balvin’s previous Jordan Brand collaborative efforts. Despite the visual cacophony that was his Air Jordan 1 and his gimmicky light-up Air Jordan 2, Jordan Brand saw nothing wrong with subjecting more of their classic silhouettes to his “unique tastes”, with the latest victim, er canvas, being the Air Jordan 3.
With that being said, this upcoming Air Jordan 3 is by far, his best colllaborative effort. An homage to his son Rio, it sports a black leather foundatiobal layer overlaid with elephant print at the toe and wrapping the heel. Balvin and Nike Air branding appear on each respective rear heel, along with a J Balvin hangtag.
A black to gradient midsole and total crimson abyss rubber outsole sit below the aformentioned upper.
As it cuurently stands, the “RIo” J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 is set to debut May 22 and will carry a 250 USD sticker price.
